We try to keep things as easy as possible, so here is a quick outline of the basics:
 
  • Delivery within Tasmania is $12.85 per hamper
  • Delivery to all other states of Australia is $22.50 per hamper
  • All deliveries are sent via an express courier (overnight to most areas - can take 2 or 3 business days to regional/country areas)
  • Orders must be received by 11am for dispatch for next day delivery
  • We can deliver to PO BOX locations (a surcharge does apply)
  • You can provide authority to leave the parcel if no one is home.  
  • International shipping is available by request – please email us for details

Delivery Costs:
  • Delivery within Tasmania is $12.85 per hamper
  • Delivery to all other states of Australia is $22.50 per hamper
  • Deliveries to PO BOX locations incur a $9.85 surcharge (this is a fee charged directly to our courier by Australia Post for handling the freight and we unfortunately have to pass this charge on).
  • These delivery fees are a flat rate cost. In Tasmania this flat rate cost covers hamper packages up to 8kg; for mainland hamper packages, this flat rate fee covers up to 5kg. For Larger hampers we can provide shipping quotes on a case by case basis. 

 
Delivery Time Frames
We deliver our hampers using an express service with StarTrack. This service provides overnight delivery to most major cities and metropolitan areas. Delivery to regional and country areas may take 2-3 business days. This is determined by the location, as many small regions are not always serviced daily, or sit outside the overnight network.

Order Deadlines
Orders must be placed by 11am (AEST) for dispatch on the day of order (for next business day delivery).  
 
Deliveries are available Monday to Friday during business hours. Unfortunately we are unable to schedule deliveries on weekends or public holidays.
 
Note: that orders placed on Friday prior to 11am (AEST) will be delivered on the next business day, which would be Monday.

 

Authority to Leave
Our hampers need to be signed for at delivery.  If the recipient is not at home, you can authorise for the parcel to be left safely at the nominated delivery address by providing your 'Authority to Leave’ the hamper.
 
If no one is at home to receive the parcel, and an ‘Authority to Leave’ is not provided, the courier will leave a collection card for the recipient to call and arrange a suitable delivery time, or collection from the depot. 

  • Please note that with Tasmanian Gourmet Gifts and our couriers cannot accept any responsibility or liability on the rare occasion that a consignment is lost or stolen after our couriers have recorded the package as 'successfully delivered'.
  • The courier is not expected to call prior to delivery even if you request them to do so.
  • The courier cannot leave a parcel at a locked apartment block or secure units; and a transit fee will be charged if the recipient is not home and it has to be returned to a local post office. You could alternatively choose to have it sent to their workplace instead, when placing your order.
  • The couriers deliver during business hours and cannot gaurantee delivery at a requested certain time of the day.

Where 'Authority to Leave' has not been provided during checkout the courier will charge fees for the handling of the attempted delivery and/or redelivery, which we will be required to pass onto you (only the fee charged by the courier will be charged: a $10 charge for basic transit fee (ie, attempted delivery and the parcel being left at a post office for collection) and up to $35 maximum if it needs to be redirected to a new new address). This fee will be charged to your credit card up to 14 days after delivery has occurred.

  • If you have selected "Authority to Leave" but there is not a secure location at the property for the parcel to be left, or if access is locked or private as in the case of apartment blocks the courier will leave a card and charges transit fees will still be charged as above.

If you prefer, you can nominate for the hamper to be delivered to a business or PO BOX address.

 

Delivery Instructions
During the ordering process you are able to leave delivery instructions for the driver, such as "please leave at the back door", "please leave out of the sun".  Please note the courier isnt expected to call the recipient and notify of delivery.


International Deliveries
We can send our hampers and products anywhere around the world! This is a special service, but we may be able to assist you. We use Australia Post or Australian Air Express for International deliveries, which can take between 3-7 business days. Please contact us to discuss your order including customs requirements and to obtain a quote for delivery as the prices can vary depending on the weight of the parcel and the delivery location.

We suggest you check the Australian Post international rates via their Postage Calculator link here as some countries can be very expensive.  We usually suggest to keep the weight to no more than 3kg, so if you enter that in and the country you are looking to ship too, it will give you the shipping prices.
