Shipping & Delivery Information


We use Australia Post for all our deliveries.

We try to keep things as easy as possible, so here is a quick outline of the basics:

We have two shipping options; EXPRESS and STANDARD, so you can choose to get your gift there super quickly Australia Wide or take advantage of cheaper shipping rates Australia Wide.

There are many regional centres throughout Australia and some of these are ‘Card Only’. Any gifts sent to these areas will have a delivery card left at the address and the package will be waiting at the local post office for collection.


Tasmanian Metro 1-3 business days (Mainland Australia and regional Tasmanian 3-8 business days)

Great shipping rates if you’re ordering in advance, for metro areas and for larger sized hampers.

  • Standard Delivery Tasmania Wide is FLAT RATE of $8.00 per hamper.
  • Standard Delivery to Australia Wide is FLAT RATE of $14 per hamper.
  • These easy FLAT RATES apply to all sized hampers up to 7kg.
  • Orders must be received by 1 pm for dispatch that day. The date picker is offered as a guide only and the date chosen is not a guaranteed arrival date but an indication of date preferred.
  • You can choose P.O delivery with this service.
  • When ordering you are authorising to leave the parcel if no one is home. Should you not wish this you can leave a note in the “delivery instructions” or email us.
  • If the recipient is not home and the delivery driver deems it unsafe to leave the hamper a calling card will be left. The recipient can then arrange to collect the gift from their local post office at their convenience.


Overnight to most areas Australia Wide (allow 2 -4 days regional locations)

The fastest delivery option. 

  • Delivery within Tasmania is $12.00 per hamper. 
  • Delivery to all other states of Australia is $23.00 per hamper.
  • Orders must be received by 1 pm for dispatch for next day delivery.
  • We can deliver to PO BOX  and Private Bag locations.
  • When ordering with us you are authorising to leave the parcel if no one is home. Should you not wish this you can leave a note in the “delivery instructions” or email us.
  • If the recipient is not home and the delivery driver deems it unsafe to leave the hamper a calling card will be left. The recipient can then arrange to collect the gift from their local post office at their convenience.

*Unfortunately, with both services, we are unable to deliver at a specified time e.g. 10 am.


This is a special manual delivery service offered on a case by case basis only to Hobart CBD and selected surrounding suburbs. This must be organised by phone or email before 10.30am on the day required. This service requires an additional $8 charge on top of the Express Shipping of $11.50.   Email here or phone Melissa on; 0403158094 for information or to place a request for this service.


  • Carded Freight.   If the recipient isn’t home and the parcel cannot be left safely on the premises for any reason, a card it left and it is taken back to the depot for collection.  Couriers cannot leave a parcel at premises with locked gates, inaccessible apartment blocks, houses with dogs in the yard or if there is just nowhere safe to leave the delivery.
  • No Authority to Leave – You can request by email, phone or placing a note in the ‘delivery instructions” at checkout if you do not want the parcel left if the recipient isn’t home to sign for the delivery.
  • Overweight Shipping Costs: For Larger specialised hampers over 7kg we may need to charge additional shipping to regional and northern/western Australian areas as the shipping costs increase.



Our Express service provides very fast overnight delivery to major cities and metropolitan areas Australia Wide, and most Tasmanian areas.

Delivery to regional and country areas may take 2-3 business days but we are amazed at the places they can deliver overnight.  The extra time taken is determined by the location, as many small regions are not always serviced daily, or sit outside the overnight network and are on forwarded to the local another courier.  But they are the fastest in the business and the best option for quick deliveries.

This service is our recommendation at Christmas time where there is more surety that parcels will get there quickly.

Metro – Melbourne and Victorian Cities, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast – OVERNIGHT |  Perth, Darwin :  2-3 DAYS

Mainland Regional examples – Darwin, Canberra, Central Coast, Coffs Harbour, Newcastle, Orange, Port Macquarie, Wollongong,  Cairns, Townsville, Central Australia, Western Australia: OVERNIGHT – 3 Business days.

Mainland Remote:  2-5 business days


This is a very economical service for Australia wide delivery.   An estimated guide is below for times allowed.

*We do not suggest this service for orders with a tight time frame or for those going to mainland hot regions if sending chocolate goods.

Orders must be placed by 1pm (AEST) for dispatch on that day, and to reach overnight delivery areas.

Deliveries are available Monday to Friday during business hours. Unfortunately, we are unable to schedule deliveries on weekends or public holidays.

Note: that orders placed on Friday prior to 1 pm  (AEST) for overnight regions will arrive on the next business day, which would be the Monday.


We have “Authority to Leave” on our deliveries to ensure your special person gets their parcel on time. This means that if they are not home on delivery the parcel will be left in a safe place for their return. NOTE: the couriers will ONLY leave if it is safe to do so; if they deem it unsafe or are unable they will leave a calling card for collection.

You can leave instructions for the courier (e.g. at the front door) by providing your delivery instructions in the text field at checkout.

  • UNIT BLOCKS – If there is not a secure location at the property for the parcel to be left, or if access is locked or private as in the case of apartment blocks the courier will leave a collection card for the recipient to call and arrange a suitable delivery time, or collection from the depot.
  • UNSAFE LOCATION – If the recipient is not home and the delivery driver deems it unsafe to leave the delivery, a calling card will be left. The recipient can then arrange to collect the gift from their local depot at their convenience.
  • DOGS – couriers can choose not to enter properties that have dogs not restrained. A calling card would be left in this instance also.
  • PHONING ON DELIVERY  *Please note couriers are not required or expected to call recipients about delivery and generally will not do so even if it is left in the “delivery instructions” field.



You can choose to not have the parcel left if no one is there to receive it, by contacting us on ordering or leaving “DO NOT LEAVE”, or “SIGNATURE REQUIRED” in the delivery instructions.

  • Where ‘NO Authority to Leave’ has been requested, if the recipient is not there to sign for the delivery, the parcel will NOT be left, instead, a card will be left for collection at the nearest Post Office.
  • If you prefer, you can nominate for the hamper to be delivered to a business or PO BOX address.



  •  Tasmanian Gourmet Gifts and our couriers cannot accept any responsibility or liability on the rare occasion that a consignment is lost or stolen after our couriers have recorded the package as ‘successfully delivered’.
  • The courier is not expected to call prior to delivery even if you request them to do so.
  • The courier cannot leave a parcel at a locked apartment block or secure units, and a calling card will be left, with the parcel returned to a local post office for collection by the recipient at their leisure.  You could alternatively choose to have it sent to their workplace or P.O Box instead when placing your order.
  • The couriers deliver during business hours and cannot guarantee delivery at a requested certain time of the day.



You can select a preferred date of delivery for your gift so that we can be aware of when you’d really like it to get there. Every effort will be made to ensure delivery happens on the day you ask for and we have a fabulous track record with getting deliveries made as requested. However, understandably, sometimes matters with postal/courier services are out of our control.  Unfortunately, we do not control the delivery companies and cannot absolutely guarantee a delivery date.  In the event that something unforeseen alters in the normal running of deliveries, we cannot be held responsible.


During the ordering process, you are able to leave delivery instructions for the driver, such as “please leave at the back door”, “please leave out of the sun”.

Please note the courier isn’t expected to call the recipient and notify of delivery and generally will not even if you request them to do so.

Delivery is during business hours and cannot provide delivery at a certain time of the day.



Due to increased business this last few years we have had to make the decision to no longer offer same day delivery. It is a manual service that requires us manually delivering to a private courier to then complete the delivery to nominated address and we cannot find the time anymore to manage this process.



If your delivery is going to a patient in hospital, please ensure that all the details are accurate and that the patient is still going to be there within the specified time. Please take care to enter all delivery details correctly. Incorrect information can result in delays in delivery. For deliveries to business addresses, please include the business name with your order.


We are no longer offering international shipping.  It has become incredibly expensive due to new custom laws and we have found it to not be viable for most customers. Added to this we have always had to package the hampers in our own boxes for safe travel and the weight also makes the shipping very expensive.
