A QUICK SUMMARY:

We try to keep things as easy as possible, so here is a quick outline of the basics:

We have two shipping options; EXPRESS and STANDARD, so you can choose to get your gift there super quickly Austalia Wide or take advantage of cheaper shipping rates to Australian Metro areas.

We have also opened up the ability to make large premium hampers really affordable to ship. Up to 8kg to the mainland Metro Australia for $11 flat  STANDARD rate.  For regional areas and/or EXPRESS speed, it will calculate an additional charge to get these super-sized hampers wherever you want them to go.

STANDARD SHIPPING

Tasmanian Metro 1-3 business days (Mainland Australia Metro and regional Tasmanian 3-8 business days)

Great shipping rates if you’re ordering in advance, for metro areas and for larger sized hampers.

*Please note this service does not cover regional areas. When at checkout shipping options will be made available depending on postcode.

  • Delivery within Metro Tasmania is FLAT RATE of $5 per hamper
  • Delivery to Metro Australia is FLAT RATE of $11 per hamper.
  • These easy FLAT RATES apply to all sized hampers up to 8kg.
  • Orders must be received by 11 am for dispatch that day. The date picker is offered as a guide only and the date chosen is not a guaranteed arrival date but an indication of date preferred.
  • There is NO delivery to P.O Boxes on this service.
  • You can provide authority to leave the parcel if no one is home.
  • If the recipient is not home and the delivery driver deems it unsafe to leave the hamper a calling card will be left. The recipient can then arrange to collect the gift from their local depot at their convenience.
  • If your chosen delivery postcode is not serviced by this service the EXPRESS option will be the only shipping option offered at checkout.

EXPRESS SHIPPING

Overnight to most areas Australia Wide (allow 2 -3 days regional locations)

The fastest delivery option. 

  • Delivery within Tasmania is $12.85 per hamper – up to 8kg.
  • Delivery to all other states of Australia is $22.50 per hamper for up to 5kg.
  • Larger Hampers now available with a $10 additional charge per kilo up to 8kg. (Shipping rates clearly displayed while adding items to cart. You can modify your hamper as you are going along to keep within your desired weight/price bracket.)
  • Orders must be received by 11 am for dispatch for next day delivery.
  • We can deliver to PO BOX locations (a $9.85 surcharge does apply)
  • You can provide authority to leave the parcel if no one is home.
  • If NO Authority to leave is selected and the recipient is not home a card is left for collection and a surcharge of $10 applies.  This fee is deducted from your securely stored credit card details within NAB Transact within approx. 14 days.

 

*Unfortunately, with both services, we are unable to deliver at a specified time e.g. 10 am.

HOBART/EASTERN SHORE SAME DAY SERVICE

This is a special manual delivery service offered on a case by case basis only to Hobart CBD and selected surrounding suburbs. This must be organised by phone or email before 10.30am on the day required. THE FINER DETAILS:

ADDITIONAL EXPRESS DELIVERY COSTS

  • Deliveries to PO BOX locations incur a $9.85 surcharge (applied at checkout) and only available with the EXPRESS shipping option. (this is a fee charged directly by our courier by Australia Post for handling the freight and we, unfortunately, have to pass this charge on).
  • Our EXPRESS delivery fees are a flat rate cost to certain weight brackets. In Tasmania this flat rate cost covers hamper packages up to 8kg and for Mainland Australia hamper packages, this flat rate fee covers up to 5kg.
  • For Larger hampers over 5kg for Metro areas on the mainland we can provide flat STANDARD $11 rate,  but for EXPRESS shipping it does calculate the additional shipping cost of $10 per kilo over 5kg hampers as you are adding items to your custom hamper. You can modify your hamper as you are going along to keep within the desired weight bracket.
  • Carded Freight.   If the recipient isn’t home and the parcel cannot be left at the premises for any reason a card it left and it is taken back to the depot for collection. An additional $10 is charged by the couriers for this service. Couriers cannot leave a parcel at premises with locked gates, inaccessible apartment blocks, houses with dogs in the yard or if there is just nowhere safe to leave the delivery.
  • No Authority to Leave – If this option is selected and the recipient isn’t home to sign for the delivery an additional $10 is charged by the couriers for holding at the collection center.

 

EXPRESS SHIPPING TIME FRAMES

Our Express service provides very fast overnight delivery to major cities and metropolitan areas Australia Wide.

Delivery to regional and country areas may take 2-3 business days but we are amazed at the places they can deliver overnight.  The extra time taken is determined by the location, as many small regions are not always serviced daily, or sit outside the overnight network and are on forwarded to the local another courier.  But they are the fastest in the business and the best option for quick deliveries.

This service is our recommendation at Christmas time where there is more surety that parcels will get there quickly.

This is a very economical service for METRO areas Australia wide and some regional areas in Tasmanian.  Not all areas are available to this service and it can take varied times to reach destinations.  An estimated guide is below for regions serviced and times allowed.

*We do not suggest this service for orders with a tight time frame or for those going to hot regions if sending chocolate goods.

ORDER DEADLINES

Orders must be placed by 11 am (AEST) for dispatch on that day, and overnight delivery.

Deliveries are available Monday to Friday during business hours. Unfortunately, we are unable to schedule deliveries on weekends or public holidays.

Note: that orders placed on Friday prior to 11 am (AEST) for overnight regions will arrive on the next business day, which would be the Monday.

AUTHORITY TO LEAVE

Our hampers need to be signed for at delivery.  If the recipient is not at home, you can authorise for the parcel to be left safely at the nominated delivery address by providing your “Authority to Leave” the hamper.

Should you choose to have the parcel left without a signature (e.g. at the front door) you may do so by providing your delivery instructions at checkout. Please keep in mind that no responsibility is taken by Tasmanian Gourmet Gifts should something happen to this parcel.

There are different policies for the two shipping options in relation to leaving parcels with are set up below.

EXPRESS:

  • If you have selected “Authority to Leave” but there is not a secure location at the property for the parcel to be left, or if access is locked or private as in the case of apartment blocks the courier will leave a collection card  for the recipient to call and arrange a suitable delivery time, or collection from the depot. The courier charges a $10 charge for transit fees which we will be required to pass onto you. This fee will be charged to your credit card up to 14 days after delivery has occurred.
  • Where ‘Authority to Leave’ has not been provided during checkout the courier will charge fees for the handling of the attempted delivery and/or re-delivery. Only the fee charged by the courier will be charged: a $10 charge for basic transit fee (ie, attempted delivery and the parcel being left at a post office for collection) and up to $35 maximum if it needs to be redirected to a new address). This fee will be charged to your credit card up to 14 days after delivery has occurred.
  • If you prefer, you can nominate for the hamper to be delivered to a business or PO BOX address.

 

STANDARD:

  • No extra fees are charged for carded freight with this service if the recipient is not home.
  • If the recipient is not home and the delivery driver deems it unsafe to leave the hamper a calling card will be left. The recipient can then arrange to collect the gift from their local depot at their convenience.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

  •  Tasmanian Gourmet Gifts and our couriers cannot accept any responsibility or liability on the rare occasion that a consignment is lost or stolen after our couriers have recorded the package as ‘successfully delivered’.
  • The courier is not expected to call prior to delivery even if you request them to do so.
  • The courier cannot leave a parcel at a locked apartment block or secure units, and a transit fee will be charged if the recipient is not home and it has to be returned to a local post office. You could alternatively choose to have it sent to their workplace instead when placing your order.
  • The couriers deliver during business hours and cannot guarantee delivery at a requested certain time of the day.

 

PREFERRED DELIVERY DATE 

You can select a preferred date of delivery for your gift so that we can be aware of when youd really like it to get there. Every effort will be made to ensure delivery happens on the day you ask for and we have a fabulous track record with getting deliveries made as requested. However, understandably, sometimes matters with postal/courier services are out of our control.  Unfortunately, we do not control the delivery companies and cannot absolutely guarantee a delivery date.  In the event that something unforeseen alters in the normal running of deliveries, we cannot be held responsible.

DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS

During the ordering process, you are able to leave delivery instructions for the driver, such as “please leave at the back door”, “please leave out of the sun”.

Please note the courier isn’t expected to call the recipient and notify of delivery and generally will not even if you request them to do so.

Delivery is during business hours and cannot provide delivery at a certain time of the day.

 

HOSPITAL AND BUSINESS ADDRESS DELIVERIES

If your delivery is going to a patient in hospital, please ensure that all the details are accurate and that the patient is still going to be there within the specified time. Please take care to enter all delivery details correctly. Incorrect information can result in delays in delivery. For deliveries to business addresses, please include the business name with your order.

INTERNATIONAL DELIVERIES

We can send our hampers and products anywhere around the world! This is a special service, and shipping can be expensive but we may be able to assist you. We use Australia Post for International deliveries, which can take between 3-7 business days.

We suggest you check the Australian Post international rates via their Postage Calculator link here before making a decision as the shipping costs are high.  We usually suggest to keep the weight to no more than 3kg, so if you enter that in and the country you are looking to ship too, it will give you the shipping prices.
